New Haven, Connecticut – March 9, 2007 – Woodbridge, LLC., an innovative middle market mergers and acquisitions firm, is pleased to announce the sale of The Ski Barn, Inc. to R&R Sports Company, LLC.
Woodbridge represented The Ski Barn in the transaction, the largest ski and snowboard rental company in the East, with five locations in West Virginia and Virginia. The buyer, R&R Sports, operates a number of similar ski-related stores in Utah and Colorado.
“Our multi-channel marketing methodology made this deal a success,” said Don Krier, senior vice president at Woodbridge and dealmaker for the transaction. “We marketed The Ski Barn, as we do all of our sell-side clients, using proprietary and purchased databases to contact over 3,000 prospective buyers, a marketing video of the company, blind advertising in select journals and our website, which sees 200,000 visitors a year.”
“This was our first time selling a business and we were pleased with how Woodbridge helped us through the entire process from deciding to sell to closing the deal,” said Mike Owen, president of The Ski Barn.”
Woodbridge completed the transaction within nine months of bringing the company to market.
Woodbridge, LLC., a global, marketing-driven M&A firm, was founded in 1993 to provide divestiture and acquisition services to middle market companies in a variety of industries.
