Woodbridge Opens Brazilian Office

October 3, 2008

New Haven, Connecticut – October 3, 2008 – Woodbridge, LLC. is pleased to announce the expansion of its global mergers and acquisitions capabilities to the Brazilian market. Woodbridge will now offer its M&A advisory services to U.S. buyers seeking middle-market acquisitions in Brazil – as well as to selected sell-side clients whose companies could attract Brazilian acquirers.

Located in Cotia, Sao Paulo, Woodbridge Brazilis headed up by James Locke, an experienced international business executive and long-time resident of Brazil. With Brazil’s economy forecast to grow by an annual average of 4.1% in 2008-12, Woodbridge expects Brazil’s cross-border M&A activity to continue to rise at double-digit annual rates.

“We are very excited about Woodbridge’s expansion into Brazil,” said Robert Koenig, president of Woodbridge. “This furthers our ability to give our clients global reach, whether they are looking for add-on acquisitions or trying to find the right buyer.”

According to Koenig, Woodbridge will execute the same marketing-intensive search strategies in Brazil that has been successfully employed in the U.S. and Europe via the firm Woodbridge Europe office.

Among Brazil’s top industries are: automotive, petrochemicals, cement and construction, aircraft, textiles, food and beverages, mining, pharmaceuticals, consumer durables and tourism. In agriculture alone, the country is a major producer of coffee, soybeans, wheat, rice, corn, and sugar cane, cocoa, citrus and beef.

“For buyers, our unique marketing approach is the best way to identify qualified acquisition candidates that are not on the market, which gives our clients multiple deal options and an exclusive introduction to potential sellers in Brazil,” said Koenig.

Woodbridge, LLC., an innovative, marketing-driven M&A firm, was founded in 1993 to provide divestiture and acquisition services to middle market companies.
